Akash Systems grows artificial diamond-on-semiconductor materials to extricate heat from the core of satellite communications systems. Diamonds, the world's most thermally conductive material, are placed within tens of nanometres from the hottest core of the satellite. The result is a small satellite that is so powerful and inexpensive that global internet access would cost just $5/month. A dozen of its satellites spanning the globe would be sufficient to deliver universal access.
At Akash Systems, we are pioneering the use of artificial diamond materials to build the world's fastest data-rate satellites in order to bring the cost of global internet access to a few dollars a month.
