Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS) is a non-profit organization that enables community resilience through practical solutions in disaster readiness, response and rehabilitation.

Since 1994, the organization has mounted extensive relief efforts in 35 major disasters in India. It has reached families affected by climate stresses by rebuilding schools and homes, and fostering long-term community resilience. In the last 27 years, it has impacted over 3 million lives.

COVID-19 Response

Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS) reached over 470,000 people with 9.4 million meals, 24,000 hygiene kits and 11,500 personal protection equipment (PPE) kits in 13 states in India in 2020.

In 2021, it has continued to provide support to the most marginalized groups affected by or vulnerable to the impacts of COVID-19. Between March and June 2021, it assisted 34,500 individuals by establishing COVID Care Centres, starting a 24x7 national helpline, providing critical supplies and conducting vaccination drives.

Our COVID-19 response programme is designed to accelerate the vaccine adoption efforts around the country as it is the only way to safeguard communities from the anticipated third wave in India. We are committed to reaching the most marginalized communities and ensuring complete vaccination at the cluster level.
