Established in 2000, Industree Foundation tackles the root causes of poverty holistically by creating an ownership-based, organized, creative manufacturing system for microentrepreneurs, helping communities assess their traditional skill base, organize them into production units, develop products that appeal to modern markets, and create consistent demand for sustainable businesses. It has reached 30,000 women artisans across India and Africa through collaborative efforts.

COVID-19 Response

By building a safe work environment, Industree has ensured that women continued to earn incomes during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the second wave, it provided compensatory wage loss support to women artisans through stipends to tide them over during the immediate effects of the lockdown. Artisans were trained to work from home and received dry ration kits consisting of basic staples for a month.

Industree Foundation has been working with women artisans during the COVID-19 pandemic to create dignified and sustainable livelihoods in the creative manufacturing sector. We have assisted these artisanal communities by increasing their resilience in the fight against the pandemic through relief materials and financial support.
