Adhyayan Foundation is a capacity building organization that improves the quality of educational leadership and learning outcomes through evidence-based reviews and data-driven professional learning communities. The foundation has so far worked with over 7,800 schools in the states of Goa, Delhi, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh.
Adhyayan Foundation stepped up its support to school and system leaders, ensuring that 240,000 students continued to engage in learning during the lockdown. More than 11,000 teachers received practical, usable professional knowledge to deliver online and distance learning.
As part of its relief work, it has also provided dry rations, medical equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, masks and sanitizers to two districts in Arunachal Pradesh where access, connectivity and terrain are huge problems.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought home the utter lack of preparedness of schools to cope with a situation of this magnitude. Schools need to constantly reassess the situation and respond swiftly to keep students safe, productive and holistically engaged. This requires a close connection with the community and education on the social behaviour required to mitigate the effects of the third and subsequent waves.
