Humanæ: Work in Progress
By Angélica Dass
We know that skin colour is more complex than just black and white. Angélica Dass’ Humanæ is a work in progress that consists of the portraits of more than 3,000 volunteers from around the globe. The background of each portrait matches the Pantone® tone extracted from a small pixel sample taken from their nose. The project is a chromatic inventory that will only be complete once the artist has photographed every human on Earth. At present, Humanæ has been in 25 cities and 16 countries. In Davos participants will experience a 30-metre installation of Humanæ outside the Congress Centre.
